IL SB2291

Amends the State Officials and Employees Ethics Act to restrict political fundraising by executive branch constitutional officers, General Assembly members, candidates for these offices, political caucuses, and political committees during legislative sessions.

Prohibits political fundraising functions on any day the legislature is in session or the day immediately prior to or after such day.

Exempts fundraising functions scheduled at least 14 days in advance of special legislative sessions or the day immediately prior to such sessions from the fundraising restrictions.

Clarifies that the legislature is not considered in session on perfunctory session days or days when only a committee is meeting.
