IL SB2300

Establishes the first Tuesday after the first Monday of November in even years as "General Election Day," a recurring State holiday observed throughout Illinois.

Makes General Election Day a legal school holiday under the School Code and State Universities Civil Service Act; schools closed on this day must be made available to election authorities as polling places.

Adds General Election Day to the list of holidays in the Illinois Procurement Code for purposes of computing time deadlines in procurement matters.

Removes previous temporary provisions designating November 3, 2020 and November 8, 2022 as one-time State holidays for those specific election years.

Takes effect immediately upon becoming law.
