State Board of Education shall create the Science in Elementary Schools Working Group with members including science educators, medical doctors, osteopaths, parents, registered nurses, chiropractors, exercise physiologists, and physical therapists serving without compensation.

State Board of Education shall provide administrative support to the Working Group.

By June 1, 2024, Working Group shall create a crosswalk and alignment document connecting Illinois Learning Standards, Next Generation Science Standards, and Illinois Learning Standards for Science with links to free, age-appropriate educational resources focused on anatomy, physiology, and nutrition.

Working Group shall recommend how to empower elementary students with knowledge of their own bodies and health care, emphasizing human-centered science education that connects to chemistry, biology, and physics taught at later grade levels.

State Board of Education shall receive recommendations by December 31, 2025, and shall review and update crosswalk documents every 5 years, with the first review by December 31, 2030.
