IL SB2666

Renames the "Family Military Leave Act" to the "Military Leave Act" and adds provisions for paid leave to participate in military funeral honors details.

Allows employees of employers with 51+ employees to use up to 8 hours per calendar month (40 hours per year maximum) for funeral honors details, with option for more if authorized by employer or collective bargaining agreement.

Employees must be trained to participate in funeral honors details and be either active/retired armed forces members or authorized providers such as veterans service organization members to qualify for the leave.

Funeral honors detail leave is paid at the employee's regular rate and can be taken separately from vacation, sick, personal, or other leave without exhausting those benefits first.

Employees taking funeral honors detail leave receive the same protections as family military leave, including job restoration and continuation of employee benefits upon return from leave.
