IL SB2706

Establishes a Fleet Electrification Incentive Program administered by the Environmental Protection Agency offering $200,000 grants per electric Class 6, 7, or 8 truck purchased or leased by Illinois fleet owners and operators.

Requires applicants to register trucks in Illinois or under the International Registration Plan, be domiciled in Illinois, and maintain leases for at least 36 months if applicable.

Mandates grant recipients retain title or use of incentivized trucks for a minimum of 60 consecutive months and prohibits resale or sublease for financial gain within 60 months of purchase or lease date.

Allows fleet owners to submit multiple applications for each eligible diesel truck replacement and grants priority to applicants with negotiated collective bargaining agreements.

Permits participants in a vehicle replacement program to scrap existing diesel trucks or transfer ownership to another fleet operator who agrees to scrap their oldest diesel truck in the same location.
