IL SB2754

State Board of Education shall pay one-half of the salary for employees employed by manufacturing companies working as licensed career and technical education teachers in high schools, subject to appropriation.

School boards must notify any labor organization with a collective bargaining agreement before hiring a manufacturing employee for this position.

If eligible employees exist in the applicable bargaining unit, the school board must offer to hire a bargaining unit member for the position.

If no eligible employees exist in the bargaining unit, the labor organization must notify the school district and confirm that the position cannot be filled by any bargaining unit members.
