• Establishes a student teaching stipend program administered by the Illinois Student Assistance Commission for recipients of Minority Teachers of Illinois scholarships who are currently student teaching, subject to appropriation.

• Stipend recipients must be selected from applicants demonstrating financial need, with applications reviewed by the Commission using criteria it determines.

• Beginning with the 2025-2026 academic year, stipend recipients may receive additional payments for other expenses during the year they are engaged in student teaching, notwithstanding existing maximum award amounts.

• Requires the Commission to establish rules for implementing the student teaching stipend program.
