Allows veterans discharged honorably or generally under honorable conditions within 6 months of application to request expedited examination before the next scheduled examination date for deputy sheriff and corrections department positions.

Permits qualified veterans to be examined as soon as possible and immediately placed on the eligibility list upon passing the examination and meeting all other requirements.

Preserves veterans' eligibility to receive military preference points during the application process and employment.

Applies to deputy sheriffs in the Police Department, full-time deputy sheriffs not employed as county police or corrections officers, and Department of Corrections employees.
