Requires minimum 75 hours of didactic and supervised clinical training for dentists seeking permits to administer moderate sedation, with options including ADA-accredited residency programs or structured continuing education courses with 20 supervised patient cases.

Requires minimum 2 years of advanced anesthesiology training beyond pre-doctoral level or completion of an accredited oral and maxillofacial surgery residency or dental anesthesiology residency for permits to administer deep sedation and general anesthesia.

Mandates Department review and certification of continuing education courses for moderate sedation training if not accredited by the American Dental Association Commission on Dental Accreditation.

Requires dentists administering sedation to maintain current certification in advanced cardiac life support or pediatric advanced life support, and permits practice only under collaborative agreements with nurse anesthetists who maintain Basic Life Support certification.
