IL SB2870

Amends the Election Code to allow local government units to demonstrate that making public buildings available as early voting polling places would interfere with scheduled programming.

Requires election authorities and local government units to work cooperatively to find alternative locations for early voting polling places when scheduling conflicts exist.

Maintains requirement that local government units make public buildings available as permanent or temporary early voting polling places without charge upon request.

Requires any portion of a public building used as an early voting polling place to be accessible to voters with disabilities and elderly voters.

Effective immediately upon enactment.
