SB2891 - Transparency in Lawsuits Protection Act

• Creates the Transparency in Lawsuits Protection Act to require that any state law creating a private right of action must contain express language explicitly stating that right.

• Prohibits Illinois courts from implying a private right of action from statute language; private rights of action can only exist when expressly stated in the law.

• Applies to all actions not yet initiated or pending on the effective date of the Act.

• Takes effect immediately upon enactment.
