Modifies Section 17-149 of the Illinois Pension Code regarding cancellation of pensions for retired teachers who return to work.

Extends the temporary re-employment period under subsection (c-6) from July 1, 2024 to July 1, 2027, allowing service retirement pensioners to work up to 140 days per school year as teachers or administrators without pension cancellation.

Extends the re-employment period under subsection (c-7) from July 1, 2024 to July 1, 2027, allowing service retirement pensioners to work up to 120 days per school year as teachers or administrators without pension cancellation.

Extends the subject shortage area employment provision under subsection (c-10) from June 30, 2024 to June 30, 2027, allowing eligible retired teachers in shortage areas to be re-employed if employers meet recruitment and hiring requirements.

Applies retroactively to previous public acts and maintains existing requirements for notification, employer certification, and compliance documentation.
