SB2937 Summary

• Adds new subsection (a-15) to the Governmental Joint Purchasing Act allowing chief procurement officers to authorize any Illinois governmental unit to purchase or lease supplies under existing contracts procured by governmental units subject to the chief procurement officer's jurisdiction.

• Requires chief procurement officers to consult with the governmental unit that is party to the contract before making it available to other state governmental units.

• Requires any state governmental unit using such a contract to report annually to the authorizing chief procurement officer the contractor used, supplies purchased, and total purchase value for each contract.

• Mandates the authorizing chief procurement officer to submit an annual report to the General Assembly by November 1 detailing all procurements made under this subsection.
