Hotels with 50 or more rooms must stop providing small, single-use plastic bottles (less than 6 ounces) containing personal care products in guest rooms and shared bathrooms beginning July 1, 2025.

All hotels, regardless of size, must comply with the ban on small, single-use plastic bottles for personal care products by January 1, 2026.

Hotels may provide personal care products in small, single-use plastic bottles upon customer request at no cost, but only at locations outside guest rooms and shared bathrooms.

Local governments and home rule units are prohibited from regulating small, single-use plastic bottles in a manner inconsistent with this state law.
