IL SB3140

Exempts Department of Transportation rest areas and buildings within rest areas from the prohibition on carrying concealed firearms in buildings under control of executive or legislative branch officers.

Eliminates the prohibition on carrying concealed firearms on public transportation (buses, trains, and forms of transportation paid for with public funds) and in buildings and parking areas under control of public transportation facilities.

Eliminates the prohibition on carrying concealed firearms in public parks, athletic areas, and athletic facilities under the control of municipalities or park districts.

Becomes effective immediately upon enactment.
