Creates the Tamms Minimum Security Unit Task Force to study practical and beneficial repurposing options for the facility and its property, including mental health services, health services, law enforcement training, fire services, and medical training.

Task Force membership consists of 11 members: a chair appointed by the Lieutenant Governor, representatives from the House Speaker and House Minority Leader, members from the Senate President and Senate Minority Leader, the Director of Corrections, a labor organization representative, representatives from Shawnee Community College and Southern Illinois University, the mayor of Tamms, and a representative from Alexander County.

Members serve without compensation and the Task Force shall meet at least 2 times per year or at the call of the Chairperson, with the Department of Corrections providing administrative support.

Task Force must submit a report with recommendations to the Governor and General Assembly by December 31, 2025, and is automatically dissolved on January 1, 2026.

All provisions of the bill are repealed on January 1, 2026.
