IL SB3177

Amends Section 11-208.3 of the Illinois Vehicle Code to make incorrect state registration numbers or vehicle makes grounds for dismissal of standing, parking, compliance, automated speed enforcement system, or automated traffic law violations.

Removes the population threshold restriction that previously limited this dismissal ground to municipalities or counties with 1 million or more inhabitants, applying it statewide to all jurisdictions.

Violation notices must specify the vehicle make or include a photograph of the vehicle; if the state registration number or vehicle make is incorrect, the violation can be dismissed.

Takes effect immediately upon enactment.
