IL SB3189

Amends the Firearm Concealed Carry Act to allow firearms at rest areas under the control of the Department of Transportation, exempting them from the general prohibition on carrying firearms in buildings under the control of executive or legislative branch officers.

The exemption applies to rest areas themselves and any buildings located within rest areas controlled by the Department of Transportation.

Takes effect immediately upon passage.
