IL SB3195

Amends the School Code to allow school districts to offer an optional firearm safety training course to students in grades 9 through 12.

May include instruction on hunting safety as part of the course curriculum.

Students cannot be required to take the course if a school district offers it.

School boards intending to offer the course must develop an implementation policy and publish it on the district's website.
