• Removes references to silencing devices from aggravated discharge statutes (Section 24-1.2-5) and property forfeiture provisions (Section 36-1).

• Makes conforming changes to Code of Criminal Procedure Section 110-6.1 regarding pretrial detention provisions related to firearm offenses.

• Leaves all other firearm regulations intact, including restrictions on machine guns, short-barreled rifles, explosive ammunition, and unlawful possession in specified locations.
