IL SB3224

Amends the State Finance Act to establish that State travel reimbursement rates for lodging, common carrier transportation, meals, and mileage allowances shall be set at the maximum rates established by the federal government under 5 U.S.C. 5701-5711.

Requires the Travel Regulation Council and Higher Education Travel Control Board to adopt amendments to their existing rules to ensure public institutions of higher education comply with the federal rate-setting requirements.

Provides that when federal travel rates change during the State's fiscal year, the new State rates become effective on the same date as the federal rate change.

Effective immediately upon passage.
