SB3266 - Office of Outdoor Recreation Industry Act

• Creates the Office of Outdoor Recreation Industry within the Department of Natural Resources with a Governor-appointed Director who reports to the Director of Natural Resources

• Establishes an Outdoor Recreation Industry Advisory Council with up to 20 members appointed by the Director to represent diverse outdoor recreation businesses and nonprofit organizations

• Defines "outdoor recreation" as pursuits in natural environments including active and passive motorized and nonmotorized sports and activities (archery, hunting, fishing, hiking, bicycling, water sports, motorcycles, and related infrastructure)

• Directs the Office to increase outdoor recreation-based economic development and tourism by attracting industries, developing business opportunities, and marketing outdoor recreation opportunities in Illinois

• Mandates the Office promote growth of the outdoor recreation economy by increasing access to outdoor spaces, particularly in under-parked, underrepresented, and rural/urban communities
