SB3315 Summary

• Amends Illinois Public Aid Code to change coverage determinations for autism spectrum disorder treatment through applied behavior analysis from age-based limits to medical necessity standards.

• Eliminates the requirement that registered behavior technicians enroll as individual providers; instead they are considered enrolled through their supervising qualified applied behavior analysis staff.

• Maintains coverage for applied behavior analysis services provided in home, community, or office-based settings for children with autism spectrum disorder diagnosis.

• Department may conduct annual on-site reviews of authorized services and must enroll providers no later than September 1, 2023.

• Effective immediately upon enactment.
