IL SB3342

Requires the State, units of local government, mosquito abatement districts, and their hired contractors to provide written notice at least 24 hours before applying pesticides to public rights-of-way within municipal corporate boundaries.

Notice must include the location, date range, application times, brand and scientific names of products, pesticide types, reason for use, concentration ranges, label instructions, certified applicator contact information, and Department of Agriculture complaint information.

Notification can be satisfied through posting in newsletters, websites, calendars, or other regular government correspondence, but bulletin board posting alone is insufficient.

Exempts solid mosquito larvicide applications conducted under 8 Ill. Adm. Code 250.210 from notification requirements.

Waives notification requirements for pesticide applications responding to disease-causing agents in vector mosquitoes, documented mosquito-borne disease in animal or human populations, or natural disaster recovery efforts.
