IL SB3351

Amends the Subsidized Housing Joint Occupancy Act to add legislative findings recognizing that elderly parents of adult children with disabilities frequently desire to share a residence to reduce housing costs, provide protection, and assist with daily tasks.

Adds findings that federal HUD rules do not require persons of different generations or opposite sex to share the same bedroom in federally subsidized housing, but local housing authorities frequently impose such requirements based on their own occupancy standards.

Directs the State of Illinois to assist elderly persons and persons with disabilities in maximizing the effectiveness of their incomes and preventing unnecessary burden in accomplishing daily tasks of life.
