State Board of Education, in coordination with Department of Public Health, shall develop type 1 diabetes informational materials for parents and guardians and make them available on the State Board's website.

Each school district and charter school shall post the diabetes informational materials on their own website if they have one.

Informational materials shall include description of type 1 diabetes, risk factors and warning signs, recommendations to consult primary care providers for screening, screening process description, and recommendations for specialty care provider consultation following diagnosis.

Charter schools are required to comply with Section 2-3.204 regarding type 1 diabetes informational materials, added to the list of non-exempt requirements in charter school law.
