• Allows prescribers to determine chronic pain treatment decisions with pharmacist dispensing in accordance with federal regulations (21 CFR 1306.04(a)) and state administrative rules, without predetermined morphine milligram equivalent guidelines.

• Defines "chronic pain" as pain persisting beyond normal healing or for more than 12 weeks, and "opioid" as Schedule II controlled substances under specified sections.

• Prohibits confidential information from opioid treatment programs or substance use disorder records (protected under 42 CFR Part 2) from being included in Prescription Monitoring Program data shared under specified subsections.

• Requires applicants requesting confidential Prescription Monitoring Program information to have a valid court order or subpoena before the information can be released.

• Takes effect immediately upon enactment.
