IL SB3520

Amends the Medical Practice Act of 1987 to modify supervision requirements for laser hair removal procedures performed by healthcare professionals.

Allows a delegating physician to supervise laser hair removal consultations, examinations, or procedures remotely via two-way, real-time interactive communication instead of being physically present.

Applies to laser hair removal services performed by physician assistants, advanced practice registered nurses, registered nurses, or licensed practical nurses in office or practice settings.

Permits the Department of Financial and Professional Regulation to promulgate rules concerning physician delegation of light emitting device use for patient care, subject to the remote supervision exception for laser hair removal.

Section is scheduled to be repealed on January 1, 2027.
