IL SB3554

Adds a new subsection (a-20) requiring the Chicago Board of Education and teachers' union to negotiate a new evaluation system if the State Board of Education determines the current alternative evaluation procedures have clear racial, ethnic, socio-economic, or geographic disparities.

The new evaluation system must be implemented no later than August 15, 2025.

Any new evaluation system must maintain the existing requirements for alternative evaluation procedures, including that student performance data be a significant factor and teachers be rated as "excellent," "proficient," "needs improvement," or "unsatisfactory."

The new system must remedy the identified racial, ethnic, socio-economic, or geographic disparities in educator evaluations.
