IL SB3624

Creates the Light Detection and Ranging Technology Security Act to prohibit LIDAR equipment manufactured in or by companies domiciled in countries of concern (China, Russia, Iran, North Korea, Cuba, Venezuela, Syria, or entities designated by the Governor) from being used in Illinois State infrastructure.

Requires all existing State infrastructure in operation containing prohibited LIDAR equipment to remove and replace it with compliant equipment within 90 days of the Act's effective date.

Allows agencies, private entities, and political subdivisions to request reimbursement up to the original purchase price of prohibited LIDAR equipment from the State Comptroller if requests are submitted with purchase orders within 90 days of enactment.

Prohibits State government and political subdivisions from procuring LIDAR equipment manufactured in or by companies domiciled in countries of concern or owned by such companies.

Requires all certifications, licenses, and regulatory approvals for autonomous vehicles operating in Illinois to prohibit installation or usage of LIDAR equipment from countries of concern or companies owned by entities from such countries.
