IL SB3704

Authorizes the Director of Natural Resources to execute and deliver a quit claim deed to Shabbonna Lake State Park in DeKalb County to the Prairie Band Potawatomi Nation.

Transfer is conditioned on nine specific land parcels (13-22-200-008, 13-22-200-009, 13-22-200-010, 13-23-300-008, 13-23-400-012, 13-25-100-014, 13-26-100-015, 13-26-100-016, 13-27-200-004).

Conveyance honors the Treaty of Prairie du Chien of July 29, 1829, which reserved lands for Chief Shab-eh-nay and acknowledges the Prairie Band Potawatomi Nation's historic connection to the area.

Transfer is contingent on not violating federal funding restrictions, federal grant terms, or requiring reimbursement or replacement land to the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service, National Park Service, or U.S. Department of the Interior.

Conveyance is subject to existing public utilities, roads, and all recorded easements, covenants, and restrictions; Director must obtain and record a certified copy of the Act and any quit claim deed within 60 days.
