Francis Edward "Frank" Bockman of Aledo passed away on June 6, 2024, and was born on December 10, 1942, in Pontiac to Albert and Catherine (Shephard) Bockman.

Bockman served in the U.S. Navy during Vietnam and married Thomasine "Tommie" Cannell in Rockford on December 28, 1974.

Bockman taught sales and marketing at Whiteside Area Vocational Center and served as superintendent for school districts in Westmer, Freeport, Elgin, Cherry, Bureau Valley, and Aledo.

Bockman was a member of the Aledo Kiwanis Club and Plus 60 Club, served on the Mercer County Senior Center board, and was known as a talented storyteller, comedian, and singer.

Illinois Senate mourns Bockman's passing and extends condolences to his surviving wife of 49 years, son Edward, daughter Catherine, half-brother Thomas, and all who knew him.
