Richard Roland "Dick" Ellinger of Lewistown passed away on June 8, 2024, at the age of 90 after being born in Joliet on November 18, 1933.

Served in the U.S. Air Force beginning November 4, 1954, and earned both a Bachelor of Science and Master of Science in Education from Eastern Illinois University on the G.I. Bill.

Had a 40-year education career as a teacher and administrator, serving as superintendent of Cowden-Herrick CUSD #3A, VIT CUSD #2, and Lewistown CUSD #97 until his 1990 retirement.

Was active in civic organizations including Kiwanis, Rotary, VFW, and the National Horseshoe Pitching Association; enjoyed gardening, fishing, hunting, bowling, horseshoe pitching, and Civil War history.

Survived by his wife of 68 years, Faye Darlene Olinger (married April 1, 1956), four children, four grandchildren, and five great-grandchildren.
