Earned a bachelor's degree in religious education from GMOR Theological Institute of America in August 2003 after attending Loop Junior College and Moody Bible Institute

Served extensively in Baptist church ministry including as first lady of Greater Faith M.B. Church beginning in 1984, field mission worker, Bible teacher at Renaissance Nursing Home for over five years, and held leadership positions with Baptist Wives of Chicago Vicinity

Extends sincere condolences from the 103rd General Assembly to her surviving family including five children, 17 great-grandchildren, and three great-great-grandchildren
