Danny Barlow of Chicago passed away on July 3, 2024, at age 71 after being born on June 13, 1953.

He was the firstborn of seven children to Marlene Barlow and Rapier "Ray" Bond and was baptized at Morning Star Baptist Church; he attended Forestville Upper Grade Center and Dunbar Vocational High School where he achieved the rank of lieutenant colonel in JROTC.

Danny Barlow worked as a union carpenter with Carpenters Local 1185 from his teenage years until retirement, helping hundreds of people including his sons and grandsons join the union, and later worked as a flooring consultant.

He was married twice, first to Linda with whom he had two children (Danny and William), and later to Marie with whom he had eight children total (including six of Marie's from a previous relationship); together they had more than 50 grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

The Illinois Senate mourns his passing and extends condolences to his family and friends, remembering him for his work ethic, leadership, and infectious joy.
