Dennis W. Gorman of Quincy passed away on June 25, 2024, at age 82.

Gorman graduated from the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign in 1964 and earned his Juris Doctor from the University of Illinois College of Law in 1967, practicing law for 50 years before retiring in 2017.

He served as city attorney and assistant state's attorney, worked as a school lawyer for multiple Illinois school districts and universities, and was a member of the State Street Bank Board of Directors for 49 years.

Gorman was an Eagle Scout who represented Illinois at the Boy Scout Report to the Nation in 1960 and received the Silver Beaver Award, James West Fellowship Award, and Scout's Distinguished Citizen Award.

The Illinois Senate expresses condolences to his surviving wife, daughter Wendy, daughter-in-law Debbie, five granddaughters, great-granddaughter, and extended family.
