Gary S. Segal of Rock Island passed away on July 24, 2024 at age 80.

Segal was born in Buffalo, New York on August 23, 1943, graduated from Rock Island High School in 1961 and Philadelphia Textile School in 1966, served in the U.S. Army in Vietnam, and worked at Herman's Inc. for 48 years.

Segal served as past president of the Tri-City Jewish Center and was a board member of the Jewish Federation and Rock Island Hebrew Cemetery Association; he was also a member of Vietnam Veterans of America Chapter 299 and Jewish War Veterans.

Segal is survived by his wife of 37 years Randi Segal, daughters Sarah and Rachel, two grandchildren, and sister Judi Stroud.

The Illinois Senate mourns his passing and extends condolences to his family, friends, and all who knew him.
