Glen F. Oest of Havana, Illinois passed away on June 28, 2024, at age 98.

Served as a quartermaster in the U.S. Army during World War II at a prison camp in Hawaii and later served on a ship in the South Pacific during atomic bomb testing.

Worked as a lifelong farmer in Mason County, retiring in 1996, and was named Outstanding Young Farmer by the Havana Jaycees in 1955.

Member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church and American Legion Post #138 in Havana; served as a weather reporter with the National Weather Service for over 25 years.

Survived by two children (Tim Oest and Nancy Blakely), four grandchildren, five great-grandchildren, three great-great grandchildren, and brother Robert Oest.
