Acknowledges Hughes' military service in the U.S. Navy and his 37-year career in the I.T. Department at John Deere before retiring in 2011.

Recognizes Hughes' survivors including his wife of 47 years (Cheryl), two daughters (Valerie and Danielle), six grandchildren, and sister Cheryl Baker.

Extends the Illinois Senate's condolences to Hughes' family, friends, and all who knew him.
