John Baldwin opened The Popcorn Shop in historic downtown Decatur in 1934, making it one of the oldest popcorn shops in the United States.

Del Barnett took over operations in the 1960s and renamed it Del's Popcorn Shop; the Jacobs Family purchased it in the 1970s and currently owns it.

Del's has expanded to become a top seller on Amazon with its famous red popcorn tin included in Amazon's Overall Choice selection and is planning new locations nationwide.

2024 marks Del's 90th anniversary, which the shop is celebrating with new packaging, retail concepts, and renovations starting in 2024.
