Illinois Senate expresses mourning over the death of former State Representative Brent Alan Hassert of Plainfield, who passed away on August 29, 2024

Rep. Hassert served as a Republican member of the Illinois House of Representatives representing the 85th District from 1993 to January 2009, including service as Deputy House Republican Leader

Rep. Hassert was born October 29, 1952, and was preceded in death by his parents and infant brother Craig Hassert

Rep. Hassert is survived by his wife Lee Ann Goodson, three children, one brother, eight grandchildren, and numerous cousins, nieces, and nephews
