Senate Resolution mourning the death of Mary Lynne Cleverdon of Springfield, who passed away on July 10, 2024

Cleverdon was born September 13, 1941, in Concordia, Kansas, attended The College of Wooster from 1959 to 1963, and participated in Freedom Summer 1964 in Mississippi registering Black voters

Worked as Director of Christian Education at Westminster Presbyterian Church and as business manager and adjunct faculty member at SIU School of Medicine, where she earned a master's degree in counseling and retired in 2007

Held leadership roles in Westminster Presbyterian Church, Presbyterian Women, Church Women United, P.E.O., and served as board president of Kemmerer Village; supported civil rights organizations, museums, performing arts, veterans, environmental organizations, and food pantries

Survived by son Joseph Cleverdon, daughter Carol Booth, three grandchildren, four siblings, and extended family; Illinois Senate expresses condolences to her family and loved ones
