James Lewis "Jim" Diekroeger passed away on August 14, 2024, at age 89 after being born in Marceline, Missouri on November 12, 1934

Earned a Bachelor of Science from Central Methodist University (1956) and graduate degrees from Indiana University and Missouri University (1959 and 1962)

Developed Illinois hospital trauma center system, established the first state-certified public health department in Springfield in 1975, and founded environmental consulting company Netco, Inc.

Served as a two-term village trustee and two-term school board member in Sherman, Illinois (1966-2005) and was instrumental in founding the Williamsville High School football team

Survived by daughters Lisa Stone and Leigh Flatt, two grandsons, and two great-grandchildren; preceded in death by wife Lettie Anne Hicks after 65 years of marriage
