Stephanie G. Wood of Bolingbrook passed away on September 15, 2024; she was born in Oak Park on August 19, 1984.

Obtained undergraduate degree from DePaul University and law degree from John Marshall Law School (now University of Illinois Chicago School of Law); worked in graduate admissions at DePaul University for the past six years.

Held a black belt in Taekwondo and enjoyed board games, poker, video games, painting, and building home projects; was known for her sparkling heart, energy, generosity, and selflessness.

Survived by her husband of nine years Danny, brother Tristan, parents Fernando and Diane Esparza, in-laws Randy and Barb Wood, sister-in-law Allison Taylor, nieces, nephews, uncle Ruben, aunts Beatrice and Maria, and numerous relatives and friends.

Illinois Senate mourns her passing and extends condolences to her family, friends, and all who knew her.
