Mourns the death of Dr. Charles E. Morris Jr. of Bloomington, who passed away on August 11, 2024.

Recognizes Dr. Morris's distinguished academic career as an associate professor and later vice president for Administrative Services at Illinois State University, and as vice chancellor of Academic and Student Affairs for the Illinois Board of Regents.

Honors his lifelong commitment to Black students and the ISU community, including helping students afford college, purchasing housing for African American students, and serving as an advisor and mentor to fraternity members.

Acknowledges his post-retirement work as coordinator of SIMaST and his continued service on community boards, including the Interdenominational Theological Seminary in Atlanta, Georgia.

Extends condolences to his surviving family, including his wife of 67 years, Dr. Jeanne Brown Morris, two children, four grandchildren, and one great-granddaughter.
