Charles Joseph "Chuck" Zickus Jr. of Palos Hills passed away on October 14, 2024, at age 89.

Served as an air traffic controlman and petty officer in the U.S. Navy aboard the U.S.S. Lexington CVA-16 during the Korean War.

Held public service positions including commissioner of the North Palos Fire Protection District, deputy sheriff of Cook County, and plant manager for the Prudential Building in Chicago.

Was the devoted husband of Anne (Greenhoff) Zickus, a prominent Illinois House of Representatives member, and is survived by one daughter, one son, seven grandchildren, and one great-grandchild.
