Illinois Senate congratulates Thaddeus Bergschneider on being named president of the National FFA Organization at the 97th National FFA Convention & Expo held in Indianapolis, Indiana from October 23-26, 2024

Bergschneider is the first Illinois student chosen to lead the National FFA Organization in three decades

Bergschneider is a former member of the Franklin FFA Chapter and served as 2023-24 president of Illinois FFA; he was raised on JP Bergschneider Farms in Morgan County, a fifth-generation family farm growing corn, soybeans, and raising cattle and turkeys

Bergschneider was selected as 2024-25 National FFA president from 37 candidates through an extensive interview process with the National FFA Officer Nominating Committee

Bergschneider is currently a freshman at the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign pursuing a degree in agricultural and consumer economics in the College of Agricultural, Consumer and Environmental Sciences (ACES)
