Cannon earned a teaching degree from Northern Illinois University, where she met her husband Thomas Cannon, who later became a priest at St. Andrew's Church in Chicago

Worked for the Village of Oak Park for more than two decades, eventually becoming deputy village clerk

Survived by five children (Dave, Pete, Tom, Sarah, and Josh) and four grandchildren (Jonathan, Jeremy, Alexa, and Mitch)
