Herman G. Bodewes of Springfield died on August 21, 2024, at age 87.

Born in Lemay, Missouri on July 25, 1937; graduated from Cathedral High School in Belleville in 1955 and earned his Juris Doctor from St. Louis University in 1964.

Served as a partner at the law firm Giffin, Winning, Cohen & Bodewes for 58 years, providing legal services with dedication regardless of clients' financial status or case nature.

Active member of Blessed Sacrament Parish who enjoyed gardening, political campaigning, traveling, and spending time with family on his farm.

Survived by his wife of 61 years Carolyn, three daughters, three sons, eight grandchildren, one great-grandchild, and his brother Paul Bodewes.
