Lorraine K. Shadid of Peoria died on November 9, 2024, at age 93, having been born on April 30, 1931.

She worked at the Bradley University Cullom-Davis Library for many years, providing baked goods and companionship to students.

She was married to George P. Shadid on May 30, 1953, and was preceded in death by her husband and son George P. Shadid Jr.

She is survived by her son James Shadid, daughter-in-law Mikie Shadid, four grandchildren, and multiple siblings and their spouses.

The Illinois Senate mourns her passing and extends condolences to her family, friends, and all who knew her.
